Hello, once again. I realize it's been a while, I'll try to do better. I guess by now you've guessed I'm not in the office. I had to burn vacation time last week, for all the good it did me. I was home sick all week, sinus infection and viral infection in my chest. Better now, except a lingering cough. Today, I had the grand privelege of visiting the dentist. He took all of my bottom teeth, but the two eye-teeth. They will be used as anchors for the new china-choppers. I had to go to Dr Matthews in Burnet. Thanks to the city for switching from Blue Cross to Met Life for dental coverage. There are only about 3-4 dentists in the area that will even accept Met Life insurance. I loved my other dentist (Ritchie Clinic in Marble Falls). The last couple of times they pulled teeth for me, I never felt a thing, not even the shots. And they are so nice, too. Now, it's "wham-bam thank you, m'am". I was in and out in 30 minutes flat. I guess he's a busy man. Boy, do I look a fright. Kinda like a Jack-O-Lantern. Now, I have to wait 2-3 weeks for the swelling to go down, and then they'll make impressions for the new ones. Then it will take another couple of weeks before the new ones are made and sent back. Then, I have to learn how to talk and eat with them. Thanks to Met Life, I'll have to wait till sometime next year to get the rest of them fixed. God, I miss a good old rack of ribs or a rib eye. Harriet and Jackson got out through the water gap, yesterday. I herded them back on foot. I'm just glad it was yesterday, instead of today. I think I'll take them to the sale at the end of this month. Jackson will be mean to the new calves, when I get some, and Harriet is just another mouth to feed. We got some good rain, last week. A little over 3" total, and expecting more this weekend. Sure do need it. It hasn't helped the lakes, tho. I'll be on sick-leave until 04-23. I bought some new fishing line, the other day. I think I'll try my luck. I haven't fished in 3-4 years, but my boss said he doesn't want me back in the office or dealing with the public looking like a jack-O-lantern. I only had 4 1/2 months of sick leave built up. I'm already getting tired of sitting at the house, but the Dr said to stay quiet for at least 2 days. I think I'll watch Lonesome Dove tomorrow. I bought the DVD. Deb was off last week for spring break. She took off today, to drive me to the dentist and back. Guess she'll go back to work tomorrow. Chickens are laying, again. I don't think I'll plant a garden, this year. It's hard to keep one up by myself, and we still have quite a bit of produce in the freezer form last year. Besides, by the time I get back on my feet, it'll be too late to plant, anyway. My finger still looks like hamburger sh##, but it doesn't hurt anymore. Still haven't lost the nail, yet, but that's coming. No good turn goes unpunished! Well, I better got off of here. Don't try to email me at work, cuz I ain't there. I'll catch ya on the flip-flop. Love to all, Rick.
